GUIDELINES FOR THE PRAYER CHAIN MINISTRY

AT THE CROSSING CHURCH

Welcome to our Prayer Chain.  As Paul exhorts Timothy in 1Timothy 2:1 “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-…”  Our goal is to pray and petition on behalf of our church family needs, uplifting one another in prayer to the Lord.  Thank you for your interest in this special ministry.

As prayer requests are submitted you will receive an e-mail list of requests that need your prayer.  The following guidelines will be helpful:

  1. Keep all requests confidential, between you and the Lord, unless you know that it is a matter of common knowledge.  The commitment to pray for others is a sacred privilege and obligation.  The information provided on this sheet is for prayer purposes only and is not to be used for gossip or sharing inappropriately with others.
  2. Be sure that each request is clear to you.  Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
  3. As soon as possible after receiving the requests, spend a few minutes alone in prayer for the needs, and continue to remember the needs before the Lord throughout the day.
  4. At times we get requests that are unspoken or ones that are unclear.  We must still pray for these requests.  Romans 8:26 tells us:   “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."
  5. Please do not phone the person who has placed the request.  They usually have enough on their minds.  We will keep you up to date on answers to prayer or to changes in the requests.
