Prayer Etiquette




We desire prayer to happen at all times and in all places here at The Crossing. Anytime two or more are gathered together for prayer please use these guidelines to respect others and to make your prayer time a safe and meaningful gathering.

 

 

The Crossing Church Prayer Etiquette              

   
  • Pray Short prayers.

                    The more people, the Shorter the prayers.

 

  • Pray Loud enough for all to hear.

   
  • Stay Alert and keep Focused (Change positions if needed)

   
  • Work hard at Agreeing. Don’t let your mind drift.

   
  • Stay on One Topic at a time.

   
  • Try to Connect and Relate to the person in front of you.

   
  • Don’t pray Private prayer.

   
  •  Don’t Gossip or Slander someone as you pray for them.

   
  •  Don’t Preach to those praying with you.
   

     Remember God is the Teacher.

     Don’t leverage your personal theology

 

     Don’t leverage your preference in faith practice

 

   
  • Do keep the Unity and Love of Christ as our center of practice.

   
  • Listen to your Thoughts. God will speak to us if we will listen.

   
  • Bring a Notebook and take Notes of ideas, thoughts, and prayers.

  • Pray Silently as long as necessary, but Press on to become an Active participant.
